In 1994 Tim Miller envisioned bringing the finest art in the Southeast to Blowing Rock, North Carolina. The Blowing Rock gallery has grown into a growing core of internationally recognized artists. We provide fine art for individual and corporate collectors, we also have art placement and hanging services. Blowing Rock Frameworkds and Gallery offer the finest to the simplest frames and framing services. We offer gold leafing (in house) frame restoration, European style French matting, hand wrapped liners and a variety of other specialty framing to satisfy everyone's needs. The Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs at Appalachain State University promotes the ASU Performing Arts Series, an annual event held Oct-April presenting a wide array of performing arts events at Farthing Auditorium; The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, presenting exhibitions, workshops and visual art activities throughout the year; and Appalachian Summer Festival, presented annually in July providing a wide array of music, dance, theatre and visual arts.

(WCAC) is a Non-Profit Local Arts Agency whose purpose is to sponsor and encourage the Cultural Arts in Watauga County, with an emphasis on Education and the traditional arts. There are a variety of ongoing programs, services and collaborations in place to help achieve that goal and to foster the pursuit, production and promotion of art indigenous to the community. Among these are the Annual Summer Concert on the Lawn Series, the Arts Placement Services, Galleries, Jams, Square Dances, Grants to are artists and local organizations conducting Arts-Related Programming, Special Events and Educational Programming including performances, workshops, residences and scholarships. The WCAC offices and galleries are housed in the Jones House Community Center located on 604 W. King St. in beautiful downtown Boone. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday. 12 pm-5 pm. The three galleries are open to the public and there is no charge for admission. Monthly gallery openings are held the first Friday of every month from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.
